Overview
If you intend to come to the UK to work for an employer, you will need to apply for a Skilled Worker visa.
Who can apply
You may be eligible for a Skilled Worker visa if you have been offered an eligible job in the UK and meet the relevant points-based requirements.
You must also meet the following requirements to be eligible for a Skilled Worker visa:
- a valid Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) reference number
- the required salary
- meet the English language requirement
- a certain amount of savings to demonstrate that you can support yourself and your family.
Family members
Eligible family members may be able to join you in the UK.
Extend your visa or switch to the Skilled Worker route
If you’re already in the UK, you may be able to extend your Skilled Worker visa, or switch to this category.
Settlement
After meeting the relevant residence and eligibility requirements, you and your eligible dependants may be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
